the lack of representation in bigger SMPs is a genuine issue, but I see a lot of people take this issue and lead it to a massive shoutout session. while the shoutouts and focus on marginalized creators is great, it's important to keep the focus on (more in replies!)

i am being eaten alive by the amount of men virtue-tweeting about how they're going to start standing up for women and the replies fawning over them for basic empathy. i cannot keep watching this cycle over and over again oh my god

@Spectralyzed Directing the conversation to the core of the issue is important. There are plenty of things that could be better in the community. But if women are speaking out to address misogyny and & the conversation is switched to a much broader issue then it takes away from it.

@Spectralyzed Being an "asshole" is extremely subjective. It makes the issue broad and vague. Making it about whether there are "assholes" or not lets people rationalize themselves and others out of fault. What you may consider "asshole behavior" may not be what many other people consider it
