A strategic oil reserve isn't sitting in a tank. It's stored in vast underground caverns - often hollowed out salt formations. It's basically a fast well. Canada doesn't have one because we have, well, wells. The IEA puts on countries an obligation to hold 90 days of imports in reserve. That is why the rest of the G7 has reserves - unlike them, we are a net exporter. We produce far more than we consume. In the context of our market and the current disruptions brought on by the war in Iran, Canada will "do its part" by optimizing that production and those exports. Andrew, I know you know this. Let's not engage in this "WhY dON't tHeY mAKe THe WhOLe PLaNE oUt Of tHE bLaCK bOX" fake incredulity.

Mark Carney is currently attempting what is maybe the least democratic thing in Canadian history, cobbling together an illegitimate majority he didn’t earn during the election through backroom deals and who knows what else. If you want a majority government in Canada, you should earn it at the ballot box.

@kindoblue @Mothmar so far what changed is a 1-year carry back loss for the unrealised gains tax. Old system used to be a wealth tax but with an assumption of everyone making like 5-6%
Just dump that and have a wealth tax of 1% instead or whatever would be equal to what we have now
