@gevorkianesq @bryen23 If AB is the starter next season it follows the exact trajectory of Suggs….wait until after extension no have a guy start then cross your fingers he is the answer. Which is typical for the Magic to not find out what you have on a rookie deal other than F22/P5.

Not sure who in Orlando needs to hear this but an older Giannis with an injury history isn’t the answer. A true PG that can shoot and a rim protecting lob threat C are. Get a new GM/Coach and get those 2 positions more complimentary to our core & success will follow.

@CPP2123 Our core is P5/F22 and Bane by default given the assets we gave up for him and he has been excellent. Every other person on the roster should be available to try and get us a real PG / Rim protecting Lob threat C. Even if we can only get 1 this offseason it’s worth it imo.

@MrAnthonySims What is our core? Paolo, Franz, bane & Suggs? The only guy who shows up every night is bane, the rest are either injury prone, inconsistent or both. We have no actual A1 star… There is no core. Every one of these guys should be available for trade if it helps improve the team.

Until Weltman goes it’s going to continue to be Groundhog Day. Need someone new firing and replacing Moseley. Need someone new reconstructing a more complimentary roster aroundP5/F22. It starts there.

@HoopsTalk13 Another example of why I am always of the opinion that you need to find out what you have on the 1st contract. We did with F2//P5 but historically we have been awful at identifying what a player actually is then extend them still not knowing 100%. Mind boggling!

Orlando has a million problems. Suggs having the basketball IQ of a rock is one of the biggest issues. Makes completely deflating plays every single night looking for highlights.

@stoolpresidente Especially if you are receiving govt subsidies for arenas, real estate etc etc.

I have a proposal. If you own multiple teams across sports, you should have to be put to a vote in each city every couple of years on if you are allowed to keep owning the team

I think a lot of the "the Magic need a true point guard" talk is just a less controversial way to say that Paolo cant be a 1A

@jespvg Additionally I’ve always been a guy saying play your rookies to see what you have. I was screaming to play Suggs at PG for years to see if he could do it and not wait til you extend him at $30M, same w AB….we rarely find out exactly what we have until it’s too late and we extend

@jespvg Also, this isn’t some view I came up with this week lol. I have been saying the Magic need urgency and need to put the correct complimentary roster around P5/F22 since mid P5 1st year when it was clear those 2 were the guys to build around. They have had 4 years to do so.

@jespvg Simple example v Suns. Paolo abuses booker gets downhill for an and 1. Next possession instead of hunting a matchup and getting P5 the ball on the block Suggs gives him ball top of key with all other defenders ready to sag off so P5 throws it back to Suggs & he throws a 3 OOB.

@jespvg That’s not it at all. It’s people recognizing that life can be easier if you have a pg with the skillset to take the pressure off your stars, get the team organized, get them in their sets, take over bringing the ball up so we aren’t grinding F22/P5 into the dirt.

@MrAnthonySims I’ve been saying this for a minute now. We win the chip when Suggs is coming off our bench.

You cannot have Suggs be your starting PG. 6th man energy guy maybe. He has the basketball IQ of molded bread! He either makes the most spectacular play ever or makes the dumbest play imaginable! Theres no in between! Thats when he’s not injured. So frustrating!

@OMagicGuru Those 3 are safe! Everyone else is fair game. Unfortunately we don’t have any 1sts to attach to Suggs/WCJ so it’s still going to be a very hard task to build a properly constructed roster around those 3.

I’m going to continue to argue let’s get a competent FO and coach before your breakup this core of Paolo, Franz, Bane but a loss like this taste so bad I can’t blame yall. I still think we should overhaul the staff and supporting cast first.

@SixthManShow Roster construction!The max paid guys know what it looks like to be competitive and they know the roster isn’t constructed properly so they aren’t going to buy in to grinding it out every night.The question should be “why is the roster constructed to make it harder for our stars!

My question is, why has this been a season long issue with the team looking exactly like this? This just happened to be the time they fully let go of the rope.
