Day 13 of learning Business Development and today hit different. Cold outreach is a skill and finding the right person to contact is step one. Tools like Hunter.io and Apollo exist for a reason. But in Web3? Most founders are right there on X and Discord. The access is unreal compared to any other industry. Here's what I learned: Cold email still works but only if you reach the RIGHT person with the RIGHT message. Research before you reach out. Don't just fire DMs into the void. My take on Web3 specifically, the barrier to contact is lower here than anywhere else. A founder with 50k followers will still reply to a solid DM. That's rare. That's an advantage most people are wasting. Hot take, though, Cold DM hits different than cold email in this space. Less formal, faster response, more human but the moment you spam? You're done. Reputation is everything. 13 days in and BD is already changing how I move. The outreach game will never look the same.
