@IzumiYukaSmile @JustPlants31 If i remember correctly, if med pen shoots light armor, it does full damage, but if light pen shoots light armor it does less damage. If thats the case, wouldnt changing durable damage receive make enemies tankier without making guns too pen reliant?

i think the AP system in helldiver2 is its achilles heels, removing that mechanic in favor of layer armor that can be destroyed by durable damage would imo be better than whatever we have like if enemies has a layer of armor that has damage reduction (70-100% damage reduction) but can be peel off with durable dmg, once exposed the inside takes 100% dmg the bigger the enemy, the stronger their durable dmg Anti tank weaponry just does unholy amount of durable damage that can break and just penetrate straight to the soft parts non support weapon are only graded by how much damage and how much Durable damage they do, characteristic in general for projectile type can be that bullets is balanced laser does less durable dmg for infinite ammo plasma does better at both but is limited by ammo count explosive does big durable damage (depending on ROF) arc ignores 50% of the damage reduction but does 0 durable damage fire burns through armor then hp FAST gas burns through armor and hp SLOWLY (i know this isnt projectile) but melee does MASSIVE raw damage and durable damage because you have to be in kissing range with a stalker with this technically you can kill everything with anything, there will be no more AP bullshit enemies like warstrider, enemies can varies with low hp high armor, high hp low armor, no armor chonky hp (fleshmob) or chonky armor but baby hp (hiveguard AP4) and shit like Vox engine and Hivelord can have massive fucking HP and armor, vents and unprotected weakspot exist as well so weapon that does unholy amounts of raw damage can shine over raw armor breaking weapons via skill expression dudes who aim for weakspot can coexist with mf who just wants to blindfire with their maxigun for 40 hour straight, no more UGH I HATE RR META and no more HURR I HATE I CANT BRING RR META and every single crayon eating melee monkey scitzo (ME) can finally swing at a hivelord with the dream of taking it down with purely melee Tanks, FRV and Exo can just have their HP pumped up and you dont have to care about exo having light pen arms (what the fuck is wrong with you AH) and AH can have their own moment where they make a new enemy that can regenerate the armor for the terminid, a supply bot that runs around deploying shields for injured automaton and cyborgs, illuminate can have a type of harvester that would eat voteless and turn them into an actual meatshield to protect itself and most importantly, stunning something would actually do something for once to stop these types of enemies from regaining armor, making people have to take down key targets, and would actually make shit like orbital EMS be useful
