Looking for starter ideas please. Ones that can be on the board for when pupils come in so they can get on with while the rest of the class come in. Not ones that need a link for them to access the task. IT needs to be the only resource, so they can just access the website and go

@MrsD_BusEd Can you post big qs that make them think and they can chat to the people beside them about? You then get a nice class discussion in which they can all participate. I don't know your subject but in the Maths class the questions might be What is time? What is the purpose of zero?

@MrsD_BusEd Three words vocabulary definitions. Display 3 words/phrases from a topic that they have studied at least a month earlier. The pupils have to find the meaning/definition from a vocabulary website.

@KHair_BusEd @MicrosoftTeams @GoogleForEdu Yes, it has to be digital, no other resources. I’ve gone with typing test for now. I did think about menti too so will try that. Thank you! I’ll have a look at some of those other suggestions as I’ve not heard of them

@MrsD_BusEd @MicrosoftTeams @GoogleForEdu Does it have to be digital? Could it be something in a jotter or worksheet? Menti is good for quick instructions as you just need menti.com and the code, can also use Wakelet, Padlet etc for things like that. For younger groups I’ve used Typing Club, iDEA award.

@KHair_BusEd @MicrosoftTeams @GoogleForEdu Unfortunately they don’t use these. I’ve used Teams before to set tasks but it’s not an option at this school. It needs to be something that all the instructions are on the ppt when they come in so they can logon and go to the webpage required

@MrsD_BusEd Do you use @MicrosoftTeams or @GoogleForEdu Classroom? I would post instructions on the class Team, pupils would come in and do as soon as they arrived. Usually a retrieval/do now type task for older classes. Have loved seeing some of the ones my students are using.

Y11 learnt about methods of production today! One of their tasks during the lesson was to produce products in groups, using the 3 methods of production that they had learnt to allow them to experience the benefits and drawbacks of each method themselves. #EduBusiness #Applied

The first two weeks of placement done! Feeling really happy and settled in the department and school, and I’m so excited to go back at the start of November! Until then, 5 more weeks of uni and one essay to go 📚📚
