I don't teach in KS3 anymore 😢 but I've offered to plan a unit for next term - our first time using this text, which I adored when I read it for the Carnegies. A very good text for second language learners!

@MaryMyatt I should add that we've had really insightful comments and discussions from students who would usually be seen as those 'who struggle'. We always start by saying it's ok not to know every single word, let the story wash over you.

@MaryMyatt We've done before/after surveys and student feedback is really positive. Reading ages are making great strides ahead - but we do so much with reading, it's hard to pinpoint the exact factor. Our current year 9s started in yr 7, so it will be interesting to see the impact in ks4
