@ColleenLDTC @BHMSSciTeach I know I missed the chat last night, but I have been doing retakes on quizzes this year. Students get extra practice, stay for a teacher study session, then get a whole new quiz and that grade replaces the old-no average of the two. I’ve had a lot of success with this!

You and I have talked about this before. How many redos and retakes? Not to mention, double and triple the grading. How do I move on? A class like science is different from speech or art or music. I’m a tested area, I have to cover my curriculum. #bhmschat

@LizTechTrainer I try to do this in Future Acts. I present them with a few opportunities and they pick one to support or else I let them come up with what’s important/they feel strongly about and I reach out to try and find community service opportunities! We could do school wide surveys??

#bhmschat A3 I think we need to hear our student voices more. What do they care about? What problems do they want to change? Give them an opportunity to make a difference and enact change locally and globally. Give the, a chance to share thoughts and hear each other’s voices
