Westgate Strings and Band

Congrats to all of my students for a couple of great concerts last Wednesday! I love you all and I hope you have a great summer! 🎻🎻🎻🎻🎻🎻🎻🎻🎻🎻

What a fun night!! A massive thank you to the @westgatepta and @freedomhillpta for all they did to organize this great event for students and families. Same time next year, @FreedomHillES? 🏐

I’m so proud of my Westgate strings students for performing at Solo and Ensemble Festival tonight! They all got the top score (Superior)! One of my 4th graders even performed a solo and a duet with a friend and got a Superior on both! Well done, everyone! ❤️🎻

6th graders had the awesome opportunity to attend the Snow Show at Kilmer MS on Friday night! They rehearsed and performed with a huge orchestra of 6th graders in our pyramid and the top orchestras at Kilmer MS and Marshall HS! Thank you, Liz Fogel! @WestgateElem @kilmercougars

My 6th graders learned a Halloween song in only a few weeks called “Stirring the Brew.” The last note is “Boo.” 👻

My 5th graders were very happy today to be able to play their D scale in a round for the first time! Last year when they were beginners, we all played the same thing - now we are working on two parts happening at the same time. I’m so proud of them for playing together!

So exciting to see all of these cellos waiting to be played in 4th grade!!

Shoulder rest factory: some shoulder rests were made for my violin and viola friends! My cat was helping so I’m sorry if they have cat hair on them 😂😂

So excited to have some of our alumni come and perform for us today. Don’t forget to sign up for Band, Strings, and Chorus!!!!
