Fifth book of 2026. 5/26 Book 186/1000 of the Decade. The protagonist, Frankie, will stay with me forever - heroic and frustrating in equal measure. Such a compelling read and an important part of history told - or should I write HERstory.

Fourth book of 2026. 4/26 Book 185/1000 of the Decade. My 12year-old borrowed this from his school library because he thought I'd love it - I did. Bleak, yet hopeful. I need to read the rest of the series now. So beautifully written.

@TeacherBusy Anyone else had Steplab introduced this year? How is your school doing it? We have to arrange drop-ons every fortnight. This is supposed to be 'amazing CPD' and people are being asked to self-organise it on their PPA time.

Not to be hyperbolic but the amount of stuff teachers/leaders are asked to do in the first WEEK of term is an actual crime. Ex analysis, phone calls, do this online training, sign this, order this, subject action plan, meet this person, organise LM meetings, on top of teaching.

How best to relax after the first proper day back at school? Watch Educating Yorkshire - that's how 🤣
