@Anchored2911 I detest the word burnout. It infers an inability to luminate. We are still shining as brightly as before. The problem is now admin, parents, politicians, and the public are doing everything in their powers to extinguish our flame.

First year teachers are burning out.
5 year teachers are burning out.
Veteran teachers are burning out.
We must change the narrative.
But how?
We feel guilty when we leave after the Ss.
We feel guilty if we don't grade/plan over the weekends.
We feel guilty but need change.

@CastilloRiego @ashley4slcboard I hate sparring. It bastardizes the debate process. Your kids are smart enough to engage in formal debate practice. Let em! Ugg to sparring.

When asked how if differentiate for my MLL's in science, I replied. I let them think. My students are MLT's- Multi Lingual THINKERS. Let your students think in their native language. Transitioning to English explanations are so much easier when we allow native processing first.

I will not keep what happens to teachers and students quiet. This happens more than most of you will ever know. Most of the time, they are buried because the child is Special Education or the teachers feels guilty about prosecuting a child. How many more educators have to get hurt, or shot at? How many more?

JUST IN: The Florida teacher who was beaten unconscious by a 270 pound teen reportedly wants “no mercy” for her attacker & says she has been living off donations. Good 🔥 The victim, Joan Naydich, says her whole life has been turned upside down and she wants the maximum sentence of 30 years behind bars for her attacker Brendan Depa. “Everybody that knows me or knew me [before the attack], knows that I’m a totally different person now. My whole life was just turned upside down,” she said to a local news station. Naydich says she has been struggling to get workers’ compensation from the school district and has been living on donations. The teacher said she wants the maximum sentence for Depa. “I want to make sure he is not able to walk the streets freely,” she said. Depa is scheduled to be sentenced in January.
