Some soccer-themed Quarter 4 motivation I created for our students during SOL season⚽️🥅 Always trying to find ways to speak their language (and make a cool bulletin board)😄

We just finished a research project in which students had to research an animal, then create an informational poster and exhibit to convince the class that THEIR animal belongs in the Sterling Zoo. The creativity of these kids blew us away!! #ResearchIsFun #Nonfiction

Throughout Quarter 3, we had a "House Cup" competition where students earned points for work/behavior in their Hogwarts "houses" to win a prize at the end of the quarter! Today, our Ravenclaw and Gryffindor teams got to do a donut tasting as a reward🏆 #positivereinforcement

One of the highlights of this week was seeing our Moana Jr. show come together, behind the scenes and in front of the curtain - thanks to everyone who came out! Incredibly proud of the work these kids put in🌺 Can't wait to see what these stars do in the future!

Live updates from our mock trial jury: I did not orchestrate this, they did this all on their own!

CASE CLOSED! This mock trial is now finished and students have made their claims and supported with evidence for their short stories💡 One of my favorite units to date! The students did AMAZING acting as lawyers, jurors and witnesses, and learning about court in sixth grade.

In honor of Super Bowl Sunday coinciding with our poetry unit, we held a HYPER-BOWL-E paper football tournament where the students got 6 points for a touchdown, 1 point for the extra kick, AND a bonus point for writing and proclaiming a hyperbole before the kick🏈📝

6th graders had so much fun participating in the first annual HYPER BOWL!!! Paper football + Writing hyperboles = The perfect way to gear up for Sunday’s game! We even had a special half time performance by 2 Shakira impersonators! #workhardplayhard #pioneers 🏈🏈

Today was Quarter 1 rewards day! Students were able to trade their Class Dojo points from Quarter 1 for prizes. Students spent their time at the "coffee shop" writing five different introductory leads for their personal narratives. #positivereinforcement #coffeeshopvibes☕️📝
