After a bird survey this morning in Dorset on an MOD site, I popped into Warsash for the American Golden Plover & a couple of Sandwich Tern were new for the year as well
While my car was in the garage, I borrowed a courtesy car and headed to Acres Down for a walk, where I managed to see some of the local specialities - woodlark, crossbill, and firecrest @BirdGuides@_BTO.
Relief. Straight from work to Lisburn in order to twitch this Oriental Turtle Dove. Scope views much better than this washed-out photograph suggests! A first for Ireland, if accepted! @nibirds
Slavonian Grebe at Ravensthorpe reservoir today, better than I got before when it was raining and windy but not as good as I thought they were in camera. Really nice to get good views of it though. #Northantsbirds
Drake Ring-necked Duck at Kinewell Lake today, along with more distant Red-necked Grebe. With a flock of Eurasian White-fronted Geese and a Tundra Bean Goose available nearby, an enjoyable couple of hours birding in East Northamptonshire.
