Hope you have a fun time. Back when he was still welcome in the US, I heard him conduct that opera with the Met. Wasn’t very good. Of course, that opera isn’t that great either (like so much early Wagner) He was always most reliable in the Russian repertoire and with a Russian orchestra in my view - I heard Swan Lake with him and the Mariinsky when they came over in 2015.

I'm unconvinced that the point is to live to be 105+. Men of action who don't fall in battle often die around 60 (+/- a few years). High-T and adventure don't exactly lend themselves to longevity. @FistedFoucault Just from an objective standpoint, there are lots of questions as to the constitutionality of that law. The constitution is clear about how treaties are entered, but silent about how treaties are ended.

BREAKING: The US-Europe alliance is reportedly reaching a "breaking point" over the Iran War, and President Trump has "mused" to aides about backing out of NATO, per WSJ. Details include: 1. Trans-Atlantic ties between the US and Europe are "deteriorating rapidly" 2. Trump has expressed "disgust" with European allies for not joining the US-Israeli war against Iran 3. Trump is questioning whether defending Europe serves US interests at all if Europeans do not help American military interventions in the Middle East or elsewhere 4. The White House’s stance is being described as a "break" with American global strategy since WW2 US-NATO relations appear to be at new lows.

I think the reason why I don't get invited to bigger podcasts is that when I was 16 I was working part-time at a Wendy's flipping burgers and one night I grabbed a female co-worker's ass and the Shift Manager wrote me up and said that it would remain on my permanent record.

You and I are not the same. You want to see a million judges on SCOTUS, I want to see every SCOTUS hanging from a tree, except for maybe the two colored men.

If SCOTUS keeps birthright for anchor babies, the right needs to accept that packing the court is the only answer. If there is no realistic pathway to getting our desired outcomes with a majority on a nine member court, just expand it and get enough votes to make it happen.

The so-called “right” is gay and has always been gay. I think they’re just more public about it now. There are times when I’m grateful I grew up in the barrio, went to school with blacks, spent much of my youth with my grandfather who thought and spoke in the manner of a rural white male from Georgia circa 1910, and had parents who never saw a leftist belief they didn’t emulate. That time is my entire life. Only that type of background can prepare you for the USA in 2025.

There is nothing life-threatening coming...it's just that your generation will age out and die, and younger generations raised on a "New Normal" (that you and I find horrendous) will take your place. I already see it here with guys who get mad when you tell them that Mishima was a homo. There is a notable drop in traditional involuntary male revulsion to homosexuality on the so-called "right". Trite, but things do change.

People in the U.S. don't have children because they're already supporting other people's children with free healthcare, free K-12 public schools, free college scholarships, subsidized housing, welfare, Medicaid, food stamps, and more. Every "childfree" 30something has 5 or 6 young Somali, Central American, or Afghan dependents they'll never meet

@upstatefederlst CDs were themselves a reduction in the overall sound spectrum from vinyl discs, which was the closest to actual live performance. But I consider it acceptable especially given the issue with maintenance and the fact that reproduction of analog recordings results in worse copies

@chriswithans Ivan Moore is a Dem pollster and has been 5-8 points too Dem historically since he first appeared in 1996. He does know the state. I listen to his last poll because of his consistency in being off in the same general amount. Earlier polls are more questionable.
