@MusicalPurist

I don’t mind a reasonable amount of trouble.

Hope you have a fun time. Back when he was still welcome in the US, I heard him conduct that opera with the Met. Wasn’t very good. Of course, that opera isn’t that great either (like so much early Wagner) He was always most reliable in the Russian repertoire and with a Russian orchestra in my view - I heard Swan Lake with him and the Mariinsky when they came over in 2015.

@FistedFoucault Just from an objective standpoint, there are lots of questions as to the constitutionality of that law. The constitution is clear about how treaties are entered, but silent about how treaties are ended.

@FistedFoucault Who wants to get invited to podcasts? Modern-day version of the three-hour long circle jerk. No thanks.

I think the reason why I don't get invited to bigger podcasts is that when I was 16 I was working part-time at a Wendy's flipping burgers and one night I grabbed a female co-worker's ass and the Shift Manager wrote me up and said that it would remain on my permanent record.

@husafell_stone People have opinions and listen to other opinions because none are able to make worthwhile music.

@lastdekabrist The fact that America is a complete circus and everyone else in the world wants to be a clown is what makes now such a humorous yet depressing time to live.

The so-called “right” is gay and has always been gay. I think they’re just more public about it now. There are times when I’m grateful I grew up in the barrio, went to school with blacks, spent much of my youth with my grandfather who thought and spoke in the manner of a rural white male from Georgia circa 1910, and had parents who never saw a leftist belief they didn’t emulate. That time is my entire life. Only that type of background can prepare you for the USA in 2025.

There is nothing life-threatening coming...it's just that your generation will age out and die, and younger generations raised on a "New Normal" (that you and I find horrendous) will take your place. I already see it here with guys who get mad when you tell them that Mishima was a homo. There is a notable drop in traditional involuntary male revulsion to homosexuality on the so-called "right". Trite, but things do change.

There is no future if we do not do enormous, drastic things immediately. Every time I try to explain this, people say "yeah but you're making me uncomfortable so I'm gonna ignore you." Most people do not deserve to be spared from what's coming.

@FistedFoucault We know. Still suspect SCOTUS decides to weasel out of giving a final answer to the question. That is often their way - and can be done here.

@KeenanPeachy Peachy, the biggest crime in birthright citizenship is that it dilutes, degrades, and devalues what it means to be an American. This upcoming SCOTUS decision is existential for you guys, and that's me saying it with zero exaggeration. Nation vs. Shopping Mall

People in the U.S. don't have children because they're already supporting other people's children with free healthcare, free K-12 public schools, free college scholarships, subsidized housing, welfare, Medicaid, food stamps, and more. Every "childfree" 30something has 5 or 6 young Somali, Central American, or Afghan dependents they'll never meet
Lozzy B 🇦🇺𝕏@TruthFairy131

White/ Europeans don't have children because they can't afford to support them. Migrants have children because White/ Europeans support them. If we didn’t fund migrants we could reduce taxes & afford to have kids again. Remigration now!

@captive_dreamer I like Montreal, but I would hesitate to put it second best city in North America. And no hatred of Quebec or French Canadians can ever equal how negatively they are viewed by the actual French.

Montreal is probably the second best city in North America. Performative hatred of Quebec or French Canadians is spiritually third world behavior.

@upstatefederlst CDs were themselves a reduction in the overall sound spectrum from vinyl discs, which was the closest to actual live performance. But I consider it acceptable especially given the issue with maintenance and the fact that reproduction of analog recordings results in worse copies

@chriswithans Ivan Moore is a Dem pollster and has been 5-8 points too Dem historically since he first appeared in 1996. He does know the state. I listen to his last poll because of his consistency in being off in the same general amount. Earlier polls are more questionable.

This poll in 2004 was apparently from the same guy who now runs Alaska Survey Research. lol. Off by 7 in favor of the Dem. (Wasn’t a terrible poll but certainly wasn’t remotely accurate!)
