Congress is set to approve a 1.9% pay raise for all civilian federal employees; recognizing the value all federal employees bring to the American Public.

If enacted before October 1, it will be the first time since 1996 that the Labor-HHS-Education spending bill has been completed before the start of the new fiscal year.

The House-Senate Conference Committee adopted a compromise agreement (docs.house.gov/billsthisweek/…) that will go to each chamber for final approval before being sent to the President.

NCSSMA supported H.R. 4547 introduced by Subcommittee Chairman Sam Johnson (R-TX-3) and Ranking Member John Larson (D-CT-1) in December 2017. We worked with members of the House and Senate as this important legislation made its way through the legislative process.
