On the episode, Dane & Brett told a story about this holster. The Union officer captured a Confederate & took him prisoner using this holster. The catch? There was no gun in it at the time but it looks so much like a gun that the Confederate thought thats what it was...#CivilWar

Battle of Gettysburg, Day 3, July 3, 1863 -This Officer’s haversack was carried by Lt. Col. Charles R. Mudge of the 2nd Massachusetts Vol. Inf. Reg. Lt. Col. Mudge was killed in action on the third day of the Battle of Gettysburg at the head of his regiment near Culps Hill. #ncwm

Battle of Gettysburg, Day 2, July 2, 1863 - This M1850 Field and Staff officer’s sword was carried by Col. James C. Rice of the 44th New York Vol. Inf. Reg. Col. Rice took over command of Vincent’s Brigade and held the Federal left after Col. Vincent was mortally wounded. #ncwm
