It’s simple: A 10:30 PM PST start will be played almost entirely in prime time on the West Coast, where broadcasters charge advertisers higher rates for commercials.

@PhilipTortora Whole lotta dudes in these comments keep bringing up how college guys get paid now. Ya'll do realize that professional leagues don't ever get scheduled that late. And they clearly all get paid.

No NCAA sanctioned sporting events should start after 9:00 pm local time. The UConn-Furman game having to tip off close to 10:30 pm Eastern is absolutely absurd and not fair to the student-athletes on either team.

Even going back to the 2024 teams. I personally felt that Kentucky team was over seeded. They were 8-5 thru 13 games played in conference. Then went on a 5 game win streak. Lost first round in the SEC tournament. Allowed 90 ppg in their last 6 games played heading into the NCAA tournament. And then ran into a team who had a guy who went 10-20 from 3-pt. Those types of situations don't happen often. The Yale over Auburn that year was what it was. True March Madness. Auburn won the SEC that year. And had a top-5 rated defense.

The whole narrative that this year is vastly different is dramatic.
