The term “wasteful spending” gets thrown around a lot at the Legislature, and it’s important that we have a real conversation about what is “good” and what is “wasteful.” Cutting public services to give tax cuts and handouts to billionaires and corporations is wasteful.

Legislative proposals to cut income taxes would result in sustained, massive losses of income tax revenue, putting tax breaks for the rich over the needs of working families. Now is the time to ask your legislator to preserve Montana's revenue and vote no on income tax cuts.

This is how Trump's tax scam would be distributed. "A family could get a couple rounds of groceries!" Not quite. The whole thing would be paid for by tariffs (higher costs) and cuts to healthcare and Social Security. The richest 1% would get a family of four's salary, though.

Last week, a Treasury analysis showed that renewing the Trump tax breaks will send $2.4 trillion to people who make more than $400k a year. Last week, we learned that Republicans in Congress are eyeing $2.4 trillion in cuts to Medicaid and the ACA. Total coincidence, I'm sure.
