Amazing work in Mrs Finley’s Year 8 Geography lesson last week, where students channelled their inner journalists and wrote articles about Happisburgh ✍️ Excellent effort, everyone! #Geography #OpportunityToSucceed 🌏

Not a bad #fossil hoard from our walk from #Cromer to West Runton, North #Norfolk yesterday. Some belemnites (𝘤. 80 million years old) and a small piece of wood and partial red deer antler beam from the Cromer Forest-bed Formation (𝘤. 500,000 to a million years old).

#inktober2023 11) Wander. The astonishing Happisburgh footprints . Made c900,000 years ago by a group of adults & (wonderfully) children walking along mudflats on what is now Norfolk. These ephemeral traces of humans are the earliest footprints outside Africa. Mind blowing.

@england_coast Hi @england_coast! Thank you for giving us a mention but we just wanted to clarify that the mammoth found in North Norfolk was a 'steppe mammoth' and not a 'woolly mammoth'. Steppe mammoths came much earlier and were ancestors to the woolly mammoth. 🦣 #DeepHistoryCoast

Home to the Deep History Coast, North Norfolk is home to the earliest evidence of human life in Britain, it’s here the skeleton of a huge woolly mammoth was found and now you can explore its history on the Discovery Trail. buff.ly/3PqwCmC
