Also the extensive use of BM21 rockets on 24 July. And this time - Thai military determination to damage Camb army

@sstrangio Also worth noting a lot of Cambodia's nationalist discourse at home is centred on its position/self perception as a smaller country constantly at risk of being swallowed by its larger neighbours.

I sorta suspect that this was part of Hun Sen's calculation in escalating the dispute. The ex-PM has a keen sense of Western perceptions of Cambodia, having manipulated them to his benefit since the 90s, and prob expected int'l opinion would default to Cambodia's side.

I dunno. It doesn't seem like foreign govts are taking either country's side. It's very hard to weigh the two nations' almost perfectly symmetrical claims of innocence and victimhood, and as a result, most have remained on the fence.
