After over 24 hrs my son Axl got some great news: scans showed no neck or spine damage We are all so relieved❤️ He’ll go under tomorrow & have an operation on his mouth, teeth etc. Not totally out of it but much better Thank you all for all your kind words & positive thoughts!

I’ll answer honestly here…sometimes the stock pickups are just meh. Often times it’s because I’m so used to top level pickups that when I get a guitar that has less than stellar OEM, I feel the need to change them. So, it’s a necessity. Same with lame tuners. Out they go and in comes more stability. Then there are times where I just see something aesthetically, and I’m moved to make that change. I see no issue with that. It’s my guitar, after all. Right? And many times those changes offer inspiration or at the very least, motivation to play it more. 🤷‍♂️

@Netwerkin666 Can we just have one space to talk about guitar mods without the whole "stop modding and learn to play" lecture? If you don't mod your guitars, more power to you. The question was still about mods, and some like customizing to optimize and make the guitar best suited for them.

I don't make any mods just for the sake of making them. Most of my Gibsons, Fenders, etc are all bone stock. People need to stop wanting to mod things and focus on learning to actually play...maybe even...*gasp*...read music.

Guitar of the week #17 My Peavey Vandenberg. The Peavey Signature Series is a modern reissue of the iconic 1980s shred guitar, originally designed with Whitesnake's Adrian Vandenberg. Reintroduced for modern players, the reboot stays true to its vintage DNA while utilizing premium, contemporary hardware and pickups. The original ran for 3 series. My biggest regret was selling my series one. I have a series 3 which is nice, but nothing compares to the 1st run. Till now...this thing shreds! Super fast neck and no tone controls. Just 2 volume and a splitter. Which delivers some nice glassy tones when needed. The new run comes in 3 dif packages. The Matte Black and Rock-It Pink models pair a Seymour Duncan TB-6 bridge with an STK-S6 Custom Stack Plus in the neck. The Purple Flame Maple (mine) upgrades to dual humbuckers, featuring a TB-6 and SH-6.

@dax_1979 Thanks and not even at it's prime settings or mic'd up! LOL-Cell phone mic is all for that little demo. I may be biased, but money was no option when deciding on a new amp a few years ago...this thing is truly incredible and versatile.
