She was my high school art teacher. She was also one of the few people to challenge my perspectives on art. Most people just accepted that my art was pretty good, but she'd ragebait the shit out of me and tell me "Nope! It needs more! :^))))" She annoyed the hell out of me, and frankly a lot of people didn't like her, but it meant a lot to me during a time I really needed some constructive friction in my life. I worked hard with her on a lot of extracurricular projects in high school too. God she'd get so much damn heat from folks but she took it like a champ and kept going. But in contrast I'd always be such a wimp about trying to be a creative, an artist, be myself. Unbearable. After hs I would still knock on her classroom door unannounced and catch up, all the time. But then I moved out of state, and it'd been a while. I found out later she died in 2023 from ALS. The last thing I told her was how I decided to go into STEM, maybe I draw sometimes but I was focusing on something else. After I came back to art, I thought I'd come talk to her again after I made something spectacular, but I missed my chance. I found out close to Miku's birthday, so I thought my Miku birthday art would be a tribute. It's a picture of freedom. It's of what was in my heart at the time. I'm drawing what's important to me, and I'm doing it for the world to see. That, and I returned to lineart for this piece, as a callback to how I would draw in highschool. It felt fitting. I regret not visiting her sooner, and I hope I didn't make her sad by walking away from art for a time. I don't know, but I thought it would mean something if this was my sole Miku sticker I gave out during Miku Expo. My hair's dyed, I'm running up to random people giving out art, I'm trying to show people who I am. The art means something to me, and I just wanted to share that. The comments on this are utterly bizarre. This happens when the fabric rubs against itself. You can mitigate some of this by purchasing looser-fitting jeans and/ or washing more often. If you wash your jeans infrequently, tiny dirt particles can get trapped between the fibers, acting like tiny saws. That said, most people don't need to wash their jeans after every wear. IMO, a good rule of thumb is to use common sense — wash your jeans when you think they're dirty. You can repair these holes by taking the jeans to a tailor who knows how to darn. Unlike patching, where a tailor puts another piece of fabric behind the hole, darning is a process of adding entirely new material, filling in the hole in a way that almost matches the weave. However, darning works best on pure cotton jeans. If you purchase a cotton-elastane blend, the darning won't be very stable and thus not last very long. If you don't have a local tailor who knows how to darn, you can send the jeans to Denim Therapy, Denim Surgeon, or Williamsburg Garment Company (all based in New York). They will repair the jeans for a small fee. Best to get the jeans repaired just as you're starting to see the hole formed. The larger the hole, the more expensive the repair, and the harder it will be to make the repair look natural. If you find this happening to tailored trousers, seek out trousers made from a worsted cloth rather than a woolen one, especially in heavier weights and a twill weave. A 16oz whipcord or cavalry twill will wear much harder than a 12oz woolen flannel.

@high_beems Fr I’m glad exists for people who eat it up but it is NOT a meal for me. I can even understand crossover of lk CN danmei or KR novels w very similar pretexts (like ORV and other novels) but I simply can’t comprehend other types and again just not a flavor I enjoy at all lol.
