Collect the political credit. Leave the hard part, paying and enforcing it, to someone else. And here is what makes it worse: Many workers already covered by these wage orders are still underpaid today. Househelps, casual labourers, farm workers, many are below the legal minimum right now. Some as low as 3000ksh per month. So what exactly will change for them if enforcement remains weak? That is the difference between policy theatre and economic reality.
