Men, by the way, lying to a woman to get sex cancels out consent. If she agrees based on information you know isn’t true (who you are, your intentions, your situation), then their consent isn’t fully informed. The conditions they agreed to weren’t real, so the “yes” you got is built on deception. That’s why joking about lying to women to get them to agree to having sex with you is about removing her ability to make an honest choice about their own body. Consent isn’t just about getting a yes. It’s about honesty, clarity, and respect for the other person’s right to decide with the full truth.

My boyfriend wants me to apologize to his mom for an argument *she* started. She called me selfish, said I wasn't who she thought I was, and told me if I really loved her son, I'd pay for our whole apartment myself. All because *we* decided to move in together after three years of LDR. I literally sat there and couldn't even get a word in, she just kept going. Now he's saying "we both messed up" and I should "take the high road." He wasn't even there!

There is something quite fundamentally different between a long standing memorial space, which has precedence and been implicitly approved, and used for years, and the installation of a new and illegal statue, that is specifically endorsed by the highest Office in Northern Ireland.
