Oh, duh:
• Ruth P/RF
• Ohtani P/DH
Not Gaetti@notgaetti
Robin Yount won MVP awards at TWO premium positions, if you can believe it: • 1982 as SS • 1989 as CF Are there any other guys that not only *played* two positions, but excelled at them? • Musial LF/1B • A-Rod SS/3B • Soriano 2B/LF • Alfonzo 2B/3B • Polanco 2B/3B

@BBGreatMoments I had tickets for 4 and didn’t go to any of them—Jim Abbott, Doc Gooden, David Wells, and David Cone. There’s a story for each of them. It’s a painful past.

@BeatlemaniaUK It drives me crazy that almost no one is answering the actual question. The answer is false. Listen to the Star Club recordings—it’s George.
English

True or false? 'Roll Over Beethoven' was sung by John up until they recorded it and George sang instead.

Three years?!?!? For a guy with ZERO NHL experience?!?!?

#Isles News: The New York Islanders announced today that the club has signed forward Cole Eiserman to a three-year, entry-level contract.

@Jimfrombaseball No apologies—keep up the great posts. You’re helping to keep baseball history alive.

"Most pitchers experiment with a spitter but soon give it up.
If you don’t throw it correctly, it is just a hanging curveball, a gopher pitch."
Gaylord Perry.
Bob Shaw was throwing at spring training when Perry observed how Perry's pitches dipped sharply.
Asked how he did it, Shaw showed Perry how to throw a spitball in 1964.
"Gaylord Perry’s big right hand started to move and people started to boo.
First he touched his cap, sliding his fingers across the visor, bringing them down along the right side of his head, stopping behind his ear.
Then the hand went across his uniform, touching his chest, his neck.
Was all this to create a diversionary action?
Was he simply having fun?"
Gerald Eskenazi, New York Times.
"When Rod Carew was inducted into baseball’s Hall of Fame, Panamanian flags waved.
When Ferguson Jenkins was inducted, Canadian flags were flown.
When Gaylord Perry was inducted, it began to rain."
George Owens, Utica Observer-Dispatch.
"We were in Texas and it was 100 degrees and I’m thinking why in the world would he be wearing a jacket in 100-degree weather?
Later I went into his locker to look at the jacket and he had a tube of KY Jelly in the pocket."
Ryan Sundberg caught Gaylord Perry for 3 years.
"Man, I tried everything.
When my wife was having babies, the doctor would send over all kinds of stuff and I'd try that, too.
Once I even used fishing line oil."
Gaylord Perry would fidget on the mound, touching his cap, his glove, his uniform, his face.
Perry titled his mid-career autobiography "Me and the Spitter" and legendarily offered his services to Vaseline as a pitchman, the response to which was contained in a one-line postcard.
"We soothe babies' asses, not baseballs."

@BBGreatMoments Stolen directly from a post by @notgaetti, who you’ve now blocked. This is unacceptable. Stop stealing the content developed by others!

@delspacefranco I was at the rock hall twice last spring, loved it, and would go back again any time.

@60sPsychJukebox And I proudly own a copy with The Beatles Again label, passed down from my parents.
English

February 26th 1970 Originally, the album was to be called The Beatles Again. Shortly before the record was released, however, the title was changed to Hey Jude in order to promote the inclusion of the top-selling song that led off side two. The title change occurred after the record labels were printed, and an untold number of copies of the LP were sold with labels with the title The Beatles Again. This was also true for cassette copies of the album, which retained the original title.
Thanks to MJD @MJD20141694 for the photo!

If there were a Mt. Rushmore for local sports anchors, Len Berman is on it. His nightly updates were must-watch for me, as was “Spanning the World.”
He did play-by-play for St. John’s basketball during the Carnesecca era and for the Knicks and the Mets on radio.
I remember him on pay-per-view boxing broadcasts back when boxing featured Pernell Whitaker and Julio César Chávez.
Always a breath of fresh air on WNBC Channel 4 and during those fights.

@UsefulFoma @ejholmes76 @tommys54321 I am, Rob. Need 7 for the blue backs and 4 for the black (not counting 71-77 on the black).
English

A hodge podge of recent pickups, with special thanks to @ejholmes76 for the cool 1969 stamp miscut and to @tommys54321 for the Fleer WS cards (the rest courtesy of WhatNot auctions).

English

@delspacefranco @MollieeWalkerr Probably true, and Drury brought that on himself.
English

@OCSDean @MollieeWalkerr I understand Rangers had no leverage...
English

Hey @MollieeWalkerr - can you ask Drury if he realizes he sucks at this?
