Solar Power System Installation in Velyka Rodyna — energy as a condition for resilience ☀️ Over the past month, a small team of three people, led by our ambassador Lyubodar, completed the installation of a solar power system in the ecovillage Velyka Rodyna. The work took around four weeks and required a rotational presence on site. At the same time, Lyubodar was consulting and supporting the installation of several other solar systems within the settlement — building not just infrastructure, but local capacity. This project was not easy. The community is currently operating with very limited human resources. Most of the active workload is carried by a few people, while also caring for elderly residents, including those with Alzheimer’s. In many ways, this is a community balancing on the edge — between survival and the search for new development pathways. In this context, energy becomes more than infrastructure. It becomes a condition for continuity. With the support of the @localismfund , we were able to provide a small but critical push — enabling the realization of a long-planned project for this resilient and hardworking community. Installed system: — 5 solar panels (450W each) — 6 kW inverter — 5 kW battery storage — electrical automation system — cables and wiring — roof mounting system The system is now fully operational. As a result, Velyka Rodyna has moved to an off-grid energy setup, reducing dependence on the centralized grid — a crucial step in a context of regular power outages in Ukraine. The next step is to develop this space into a resilience hub — a shared place for community gatherings, education, after-school activities, and mutual support. At the same time, we are moving to the next layer of this work: energy tokenization. We are preparing to integrate @arkreen_network smart meters to make energy production measurable and visible on-chain. Currently, we are looking for funding to order a batch of 10 smart meters for the next phase of tokenizing energy flows across our ecovillage network. This creates a direct link between local renewable energy generation and global regenerative finance mechanisms. This installation shows a simple but important pattern: small targeted interventions → infrastructure → stability → data → access to new funding models. We are grateful to the Localism Fund for enabling this work, and to Lyubodar for professional and voluntary support. #localismfund @OctantApp #GENUkraine #SolarEnergy #Resilience #Ecovillages #Localism #ReFi #EnergyTransition #DePIN
