When Warcraft 3 Reforged initially came out, Blizzard made it LITERALLY IMPOSSIBLE to play the original game through their platform. It just got replaced with Reforged, which you couldn't play if you didn't buy it.

Combat and bosses are a key factor in most of them but also like, number 1 or 2 on my list is Escape from Puppy Death Factory and that game barely has combat lmao

@OddTodd32 @copperCity17 That’s a trend that started with Hollow Knight. Metroidvanias typically had a bigger focus on the map design and exploration, but Hollow Knight added fun bosses on top of that. Afterwards, most metroidvanias skipped most of the exploration to make their games boss rushes.
