⚠️ Thousands of users on MyAnimeList reported that they couldn’t log in. The reason was that they were banned for rating Frieren low. MAL has now reverted the changes and added the removed votes back (they still don’t affect the score), but they are visible in the stats.

⚠️ SCANDAL MyAnimeList removed 10/10 votes from JoJo: Steel Ball Run and removed 1/10 votes from Frieren. Frieren is currently the only show on MAL whose 1/10 scores have been removed. And JoJo is the only show on MAL whose legitimate 10/10 votes have been removed. Proof ↓

Statistically, 1% of those created new MAL accounts, you would have 43k new accounts. Statistically, only half of them giving 10 score, you would still have 20k accounts

@NhtNamNguy98079 @Oximomdrr @Okeanix1 Ofc they should remove all fake votes from all series. But how do you determine which votes are fake? In this case it was easy, because thousands of new accounts were created that gave JoJo a 10 and Frieren a 1. Not all 1 and 10 score is a "fake"

@Oximomdrr @Okeanix1 JoJo only has about 2k 1/10 how many did it have before the purge? Because that doesn’t look like bot driven review bombing like what happened with Frieren. Just to remind you, Frieren got nearly 20k 1/10 ratings within a single week its not even a close

@Okeanix1 FMAB wasn’t review bombed it’s been getting those ratings for years. The same goes for the current 10k 1/10 votes on Frieren they only removed the obvious spam from JoJo fans who got mad because their anime dropped below Frieren

@Okeanix1 Man frieren got near to 20k 1/10 vote in a week. Score 1/10 and 10/10 its ok but not from bot spam

@OgnirVT They can’t remove any ratings from the stats. Having a mean score like IMDb is different from actually removing ratings. What’s stopping them from editing 8, 9, or 10 scores? It’s fraudulent activity by MAL that can be used to boost their favorite series.
