Oklahoma and Tennessee played an elimination game at Neyland this year.
That game would not have had the same stakes in a 4 team playoff, as both would have been firmly out

College football once had the best regular season in sports. Any week could eliminate a top contender Last year, Ohio St lost to a 6-5 archrival and won a title Now, Miami lost to 8-4 Louisville & 8-4 SMU and gets to play for a title in its own stadium I hope not, but I am afraid another round of CFP expansion and five more years of this will make a lot of people view this as a one-month sport like basketball
