We visited the Greenlandic town of Ilulissat where residents were celebrating Seqinniarfik, the return of the sun after two months of the polar night.

Some people we spoke to got very emotional as they told us of their fears.

This year celebrations were somewhat muted folllowing Trump’s threats against the territory.

Scientists we spoke to who are monitoring the site told us that Camp Century is now experiencing more melt than it has in the past and will need to be continually monitored for any signs of the seepage of hazardous or radioactive materials.

In 2022 myself and @NickClarkAlJaz went to Greenland to check out what had happened to old U.S. bases in the country. It took two days to reach one such base known as Bluie East Two on the remote eastern coast of the country.
