“Is it even worth it?” I asked myself that a few days ago. No instant results. No big jump. Most protocols store decisions. Few make them usable. There's a difference between a record existing and a record being addressable something downstream logic a voter an AI agent can actually reach back and reason with. @Permaweb_DAO encodes precedent so governance can actually compound. Governance usually resets. New proposal, same arguments same mistakes. Nobody's building on top of what came before because "before" is buried in a Discord thread from 18 months ago or sitting inert on-chain with no context layer around it. What I find interesting and I'm still working through whether this is the right frame is that permanence alone isn't the value. Permanence plus indexing at encoding is closer to it. The moment something is stored, it should already be queryable in ways that matter later. That's where institutional memory stops being a metaphor and starts being infrastructure. The honest question I keep circling back to: if governance can compound precedent the way common law compounds rulings does that make DAOs more coherent over time, or just more rigid? Accumulated context can be wisdom. It can also be calcification. Not sure the answer exists yet. Probably depends on what gets encoded and who decides what's precedent-worthy in the first place.
