Sengoku Basara X kinda has the other ASW games beat for insanely broken top tiers. Unlike HnK, theres an honor system in place for SBX on character choices.

@6weetbix Also this sort of restriction of options is the case for every FG, but how it is handled varies. I think people appreciate the execution of Putting People in a Situation in Tekken moreso than how VF/DOA handle it. Theres also notable mechanical restraints.

@6weetbix I understand this but it is predicated on the understanding that they will throw rock in the first place. After winning the initial gamble, or understanding what you need for the next, rock becomes coal. Or you pick paper and then the followup afterwards is coal or die

People really need to proof read their own think pieces before hitting post cause what do you mean always pick rock guy is gonna win as likely as you in RPS but not in RPSC. Under both rulesets you are gambling on them picking rock or not.

Adding on to this: Consider RPS. Like, literal RPS. Optimal strategy is just 33/33/33 each option. Now imagine you go against someone who ONLY plays rock. Classic "Rock always wins" guy. This is a problem: if you play 33/33/33, rock-always-wins-guy wins just as often as you.

not gonna comment too heavy on the discourse but all i will say is: if you do casual hook ups you 100% have a responsibility to get tested in between partners (which you can do for free in pretty much every major city in america)
