Anyone who believes this march comes across as welcoming—so much so that locals pour out of their homes shouting, “Where have you been? Thanks for saving us from cultural change?”—must be very naive or new to politics. In fact, the march appears angry and menacing, flanked by endless columns of police, as if they are restraining protesters straining at the leash to break free. Sorry, but that’s how it looks. All I can assume is that extremely naive and reckless individuals organised it without understanding its impact on the general public (the voters) and instead viewed it through the eyes of the faithful, which does not reflect broader public perception. They have no prior experience with past marches, which have never achieved anything, going all the way back to the 1970s and 1980s. This activity gives reckless #Walton MP #DanCarden a way out and frees him from criticism, as everyone has now been diverted to other matters, like the menacing march, rather than Dan Carden’s failure. People who genuinely worry about the direction #CountyRoad and other longstanding, proud #Scouse communities are headed should stop this counterproductive activity and engage with individuals or political parties they believe can bring about change. Voting out reckless politicians is the only way to make a difference and prevent our glorious city from following the same path as #London, #Leicester, #Birmingham, and many other major towns and cities that have underwent profound cultural change. Anything else is a waste of time. #Liverpool #ScousePride #NoToCulturalChange #CountyWard
