Jared Verse Run Defense Grade: 62.0 Ranked 63rd in the position. Byron Young Run Defense Grade: 79.3 Ranked 10 in the position. Myles Garrett Run Defense Grade: 82.5 Ranked 3rd in the position.

I love Jared Verse and he’s a very good edge rusher but there is far more to the position than rushing the passer. He failed consistently at setting the edge and his coverage skills and run defense were pretty mediocre. Byron Young is simply the better all around Edge. It sucks to lose Verse but we are getting a generational talent back in Myles Garrett opposite a very good edge in Byron Young.
