While most politicians speak carefully about child exploitation, one congressman said this on camera: "They're selling kids to get raped. Hang them. I'm not kidding." U.S. Representative Tim Burchett has become one of the most vocal lawmakers in America calling for the harshest possible punishment for child predators — including public execution. In a viral video from February 2026, the Tennessee Republican said the country sanitizes child trafficking by calling criminals "traffickers" instead of what they are: pimps who sell children to be raped. "Bring them out to the farm and we'll take care of them," he said. Burchett first made similar comments in July 2025 during the Epstein investigation. "Find them guilty and hang them publicly," he told reporters. His official account posted it with the hashtag #HangThem. He has also introduced the Preventing Child Sex Abuse Act to close federal loopholes. His rhetoric comes as Idaho signed the death penalty for child sex abuse into law — directly challenging a 2008 Supreme Court ruling. Florida and Tennessee have passed similar measures. Burchett has repeated these statements multiple times since 2025.
