Karnataka Assembly Speaker walked out of the House after Congress ministers failed for the fifth time in submitting written replies to MLAs’ questions. If this is the level of preparation in the Assembly, one can only imagine how the state is being governed.

Panic booking of LPG helps no one. India has ramped up domestic LPG production by 30%, with supplies prioritised for households. Bookings have surged from 55.7 lakh to 75.7 lakh per day due to rumours. Citizens are urged to remain calm, there is no need for panic buying.

India has 258 MMT of refining capacity and is self sufficient in petrol & diesel. Refineries are operating at full capacity with adequate crude inventory. Domestic PNG and CNG supplies remain uninterrupted. LPG users facing issues may approach CGD networks for PNG without delay.

The Strait of Hormuz disruption affects a route carrying ~20% of global crude, natural gas & LPG. Despite this, India’s crude supply remains secure. Non-Hormuz sourcing has risen to ~70% of imports, and India now sources crude from 40 countries, ensuring fuel availability.

India earlier imported ~60% of its LPG from Qatar, UAE, Saudi Arabia & Kuwait, with 40% produced domestically. Procurement has now been diversified with cargoes from the US, Norway, Canada, Algeria and Russia, ensuring resilience amid disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz.

India’s refineries are running at high capacity and fuel supplies remain stable. There is no shortage of petrol, diesel, kerosene, ATF or LPG. Production of LPG has already been increased by 28%, while alternative LNG cargoes are arriving regularly to sustain gas supply.
