The prestigious Grand Cordon of the Supreme Order of Sublime Illumination (大勳位大明大綬章; 대훈위대명대수장) is the highest honour of the Myeong Commonwealth. It is conferred exclusively by HM The Emperor, on the advice of the Prime Minister and following the recommendation of an independent commission, upon distinguished heads of state in recognition of exceptional contributions to the preservation of human civilisation. The insignia incorporates the Il-wol Habmyeong (sun-moon harmony) emblem drawn from the national flag, symbolising the recipients' radiant and authentic virtue, akin to the synchronised brilliance of celestial bodies, wholly untainted by pretence or deceit.
