Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif received a telephone call from the Prime Minister of the Italian Republic, Her Excellency Giorgia Meloni. Appreciating Pakistan’s successful diplomatic efforts for the U.S.-Iran ceasefire and the resumption of dialogue, Prime Minister Meloni felicitated the Prime Minister on hosting the forthcoming peace negotiations between the U.S. and Iran in Islamabad. While underscoring the genuine and sincere desire of Pakistan for peace and stability in the region, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif welcomed the joint statement issued by key European and international leaders, including Prime Minister Meloni, in support of Pakistan’s peace efforts.
