The most generous reading of it is that media companies spent most of the day 2010s taking the core fanbase of their most valuable IPs. For granted, and so spent their efforts catering to everyone but the core fans in hope of growing their audience. Now they have no audience at all. Whoops!

Genuine question… Why do entertainment companies actively ignore the desire of their own fans? Star Wars fans have been begging them to remove “the message” from their shows. Doctor Who fans have been begging them to remove “the message” from their show. Star Trek fans have been begging them to remove “the message” from their shows. Stargate fans are begging them to not include “the message” in their upcoming content. Gamers of almost every genre have been begging them to remove “the message” from games. Yet these executives will not stop! Why do they have this insatiable need to insert their own beliefs into other people‘s entertainment?

Yes. I went on opening night and thought it was great. But that day was literally the high water mark of the entire Star Wars zeitgeist, after years of thoughtful, careful Disney hype. I went back and saw it a few weeks later and realized it had nothing beyond the surface. Never bothered with 8 or 9.

Gonna have to respectfully disagree there. The concept of a planet sized Death Star being built without anyone in the Republic knowing ahead of time is one issue of a long list of many issues. It’s got the same issues as the Holdo Maneuver, where the spectacle is striking but the context is just dumb. That and I feel like the whole “Yelling at the head of the army” argument thing actually removes the weight from scene because it ceases to be intimidating and switches to instead be annoying. Not everyone has to be Thanos, but I’m imagining someone cold and calculative like Tarken giving a matter of fact, dead serious speech punctuated by the beam firing would make it hit much harder. It looks pretty, but has so many issues that it instantly loses appeal.
Rock Solid@ShitpostRock2

As much as i hate the sequels they cooked HARD with this whole scene

Sandwich Shop Test. If a guy makes a trillion dollars, and you want to take the trillion dollars, and you say you will use the trillion dollar better than the guy who makes it... Run a small sandwich shop at a continuous profit for five years. Then you can tell me your plan. Otherwise, it's not worth my time to even listen.

@fandompulse The issue is, IGN thinks of itself as some great gatekeeper for art and story and not something that reviews games for the average gamer. So you just have writers who are pretentious and annoying. So the game speaks to them. Thus, the 10/10

IGN awarded Mixtape a perfect 10/10 — one of the rarest scores in the publication's history. Mixtape peaked at 2,245 concurrent players on Steam. Xbox's official account responded to the backlash: "Reminder: just because you're not personally into a game, doesn't mean it's a bad game." Players called it "shallow, painfully self-important, and more interested in curated vibes than actual gameplay." The soundtrack licenses The Smashing Pumpkins, Joy Division, and The Cure — not an indie budget. This is the Concord pattern. When does gaming press reckon with the gap between its scores and its audience?

TRUE. As a white father of 5 I teach my children that blacks are extremely violent, have no impulse control, and are to be avoided at all costs. Any white parent who doesn't teach their children this, is doing their children a massive disservice due to their naivety and is literally putting their children's lives at risk. Fortunately I've made a ton of money so am able to raise my children in a country where there are no blacks, and send them to a private international school that no blacks can afford.

Yeah, what's happened in the African American community over the last 60 years is about the furthest things from "winning" I could imagine by any metric. No father, killing each other, begging for handouts from White people and the government, life expectancy 20 years below White people, etc. You'll never admit it, but if you're one of the smarter ones (~90 IQ) you know it deep down. Then again, based on these takes I'd put your IQ in the low 70s.

If it's all scripted, it makes no sense to concentrate all this power around him vs. diffusing it among multiple people. Or, if he's so loyal, they'd have given him back OpenAI instead of letting Altman steal it from him. Elon has amassed all this power and wealth because he is extremely good at running businesses and his businesses target extremely ambitious problems to solve.

If there's any cult more ridiculous than the Trump cult, it's the Elon cult. The dude is a weird technoccultist who basically serves as the avatar of the tech elite arm of the global power structure. If you believe @elonmusk is rich just because he's smart, then you have no idea how the world works. You probably also believe he purchased Twitter because he cares about free speech. You probably still believe DOGE was about eliminating govt waste & corruption. Elon is not the richest person in the world. He's the richest person we're allowed to know about. Within the real world power dynamics, he's a middle manager at best. He's rich because he's useful to the globalist asset managers. He's been allowed to become wealthy because it's part of his scripted persona. This persona is useful in getting normie morons to suspend all judgment & get on board with the implementation of the technocrat takeover. Elon's role is essential in building out the data collection/surveillance infrastructure of the control grid. If he were to refuse to do the bidding of his masters, his stock value would plummet & his wealth would evaporate. He knows this, which is why he does what he's told. You guys have got to stop worshipping your overlords. It's pathetic.
John Ʌ Konrad V@johnkonrad

Millionaire here. Let me explain how Elon Musk became so rich. He is 10x smarter than me and I’m 10x smarter than you. That combined with one small piece of factual knowledge you haven’t learned yet: Marx and Mao were retarded.

I saw something today saying that Elon's current wealth is equal to 3.7% of US GDP, whereas Rockefeller's topped out at about 3%. The US also accounts for a much higher percentage of world GDP than it did in JDR's heyday, so I think based on those I would consider Elon to be more wealthy.

@PMccarthy26071 @Drachs1978 @Devon_Eriksen_ He bought Tesla when they didn't even have a prototype vehicle and turned them into the biggest car company in the world. Trying to say he didn't found it is stupid, the company was barely more than an idea when he joined.

@BowesChay Fun fact: if you invested in all the public, female-founded, female-led companies in the US that IPO'd in the last 10 years, you'd have lost over 95% of your investment. There are no females on this list because women are not cut out for business.

Musk's capital deployment has founded three (3) different trillion dollar companies. Those companies: (1) single-handedly created the EV industry (and even gave away Tesla IP to encourage competition), (2) invented reusable rockets and given humanity a big boost in the space race, and essentially created AI as we know it. One of his other big investments also freed the world from the yoke of left wing censorship. Someone would have to be astoundingly arrogant (and wrong) to think they could deploy capital better than him- he's literally objectively better at it than anyone else on earth.

@RoKhanna US state and federal governments ALREADY invest more tax dollars per capita in healthcare and education than almost anywhere else in the world. The system you have produced with that investment is a sick joke.

This the basic difference. Republicans believe that that if you let the wealthy spend capital it will make Americans prosperous. Democrats believe that the federal government investing in the healthcare & education of our people will make America prosperous & productive.
Don Wilson@drwconvexity

@RoKhanna I am highly confident society will derive greater benefit if that capital is in Elon’s hands than in the hands of the government.

Ro, a 5% tax on Elon's net worth couldn't even pay for 50 miles for California HSR. How on earth do you think you wasteful bureaucrats could ever get it to pay for universal undergraduate tuition? You guys' problem is youve done such a shit job as custodians of taxpayer funds that even for policies I'm hugely in favor of, I know that trusting the government to solve them is just lighting our money on fire.

Brad, a 5% tax on Elon's trillion net worth would literally pay for free college and trade school for every American. And with the market's growth, he still would be worth over a trillion dollars! You don't think that's worth it?
Brad Gerstner@altcap

You are smarter than this Ro. Imagine if Bernie had taxed @elonmusk 100% on his PayPal capital gains. We would have no @Tesla or @SpaceX - none of those jobs or GDP. Who do you think allocated the capital better for society? He will already pay $100 B + in taxes - more than any human ever. I hope he donates some to kids via @TrumpAccounts to make every kid a shareholder in 🇺🇸 & continues investing all his heart, soul & money for the benefit of America & all humanity! 🇺🇸🚀🤍
