In 2027 all cars will be monitoring your every move and recording it.
The systems must passively monitor the driver and intervene if impairment (alcohol, drowsiness, distraction) is detected.
Key capabilities include:
Infrared cameras and sensors (often on the steering column or A-pillar) to track:
Eye movements, pupil dilation, gaze direction, and blink patterns.
Head position and nodding.
Behavioral analysis:
Steering inputs, lane drifting, erratic movements.
Possible passive alcohol detection (e.g., via skin contact or cabin air sensors to estimate blood alcohol concentration around the 0.08% legal limit).
If impairment is flagged, the car can:
Prevent ignition/startup.
Limit speed or gradually slow the vehicle.
