Also was just fooling around with the idea of Rangi's hair length between book 1 and 2. She ends up growing her hair back out to book 1s length eventually.

Rangi ignoring her health thinking it would pass but it gradually getting worse. Hei-ran noticing the same early signs that took her husband slowly creep into her daughter's health.. and eventually having to relive watching her loved one slowly die and being unable to do anything

What if Rangi dies to the same illness that took Junsik... a slow decline in health that leads to a slow death... would be a good reason for Kyoshis lack of action during Chin's conquest.

1/2 Kyoshi has always been extremely over protective and attentive to Koko. However it gets worse when Koko turns 5. Kyoshi starts to spiral, becoming anxious and depressed. To her Koko is small and fragile, someone who needs all the love and attention in the world...
