🇬🇧 UK Government Sidesteps UAE’s Role in Sudan Mercenary Pipeline The UK government declined to name the United Arab Emirates when pressed in Parliament about Colombian mercenaries who transited through UAE bases before deploying for Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces, offering only vague condemnation of “external support.” ➤ Asked by Labour MP Anneliese Dodds about the reports, Foreign Office minister Chris Elmore said on June 8 that the government remains “extremely concerned” about “external support” to Sudan’s combatants and has sanctioned 24 individuals and entities, without naming the UAE. ➤ HRW researcher Joey Shea said the government had responded “with the same tired & shamefully vague response,” adding: “The UAE continues to act with impunity and the UK remains disgracefully silent on UAE abuses as they conclude FTA (free trade agreement) negotiations with the GCC.” ➤ An HRW report found Colombian contractors, hired by an Abu Dhabi-based firm with ties to the UAE ruling family, were trained at and transited through UAE bases before fighting alongside the RSF, which stands accused of genocide. ➤ Britain’s omission mirrors a broader Western reluctance to publicly hold the UAE — a key arms customer and ally — accountable for its role in a war that has killed hundreds of thousands and driven the world’s largest humanitarian and displacement crisis.

In response to a question about the role of UAE military bases in facilitating the transfer of Colombian fighters to support the RSF in Sudan, the UK govt responds with the same tired & shamefully vague response… referencing only “external support” & failing to call out the UAE directly. 3 years into Sudan’s devastating war, the UAE continues to act with impunity and the UK remains disgracefully silent on UAE abuses as they conclude FTA negotiations with the GCC. @CPJElmore questions-statements.parliament.uk/written-questi…

In the not too distant future, private schools will be advertising themselves on the basis that their pupils are taught to think, read and write without the use of AI. Thinking & using your own brain will be treated like a commodity, and a privilege for the elite.
Peter Stefanovic@PeterStefanovi2

Keir Starmer has announced that AI tutors will be rolled out to 450,000 children on free school meals to close the attainment gap. Speaking at London Tech Week, the PM also announced the government's new AI jobseeking tool.

CALL FOR EVIDENCE: THE LABOUR TOGETHER PARLIAMENT Please share widely and help us expose the hyper-factional remaking of the Parliamentary Labour Party by the Labour Together/Morgan McSweeney project. Submissions to be made to research@shadowworldinvestigations.org Shadow World Investigations (SWI) and Paul Holden - author of The Fraud: Keir Starmer, Morgan McSweeney and the Crisis of British Democracy – are today announcing a new investigative project about the transformation of the Parliamentary Labour Party (PLP) under the Labour Together Project. This long-germinating project is soliciting evidence about how Labour Party processes were used (and abused) to manipulate the selection of Labour MP candidates who now make up the majority of the PLP. Sir Keir Starmer was the frontman for a scandalous political project that spent the best part of a decade remaking the Labour Party along rigidly factional and exclusionary lines. The most consequential transformation was of the Parliamentary Labour Party. Two thirds of the Labour MPs currently sitting in the House of Commons were selected through a process tightly controlled by Morgan McSweeney and his allies, allegedly with direct (albeit informal) input from Peter Mandelson. Labour Together, and its key donors, then spent over £2 million on getting this intake of MPs elected. The selection process that McSweeney oversaw was beset by allegations of misconduct and irregularities so widespread that veteran journalist Michael Crick warned of potential ‘corruption’. One MP selection has resulted in criminal charges being filed against Labour officials. These are the MPs that not just determine the future of the country but will play a key role in either making or breaking the political fortunes of whoever next succeeds Starmer. In a follow up to The Fraud, SWI, Paul Holden and Jessica Murray will be embarking upon ‘The Labour Together Parliament’ project to examine the legitimacy of the process that resulted in the current Parliament, upon which any Labour government will rest. What we need as a first step is information. We would like evidence of any wrongdoing or stitch-ups during the selection process. We would like to build a collection of evidence about the ways in which bureaucrats forced through or manipulated the selection process, including in the finalisation of longlists and shortlists, and, where it happened, the decision being removed from local democratic decision making altogether. We are particularly interested in the vote tallies from every Labour candidate selection between 2022 and 2024. These have not been routinely published. We are particularly interested in tallies that distinguish between postal/online/and in-person votes. These different vote tallies would have been provided to losing candidates. Sometimes they were only read out in selection meetings. We are not only looking for results that seem ‘dodgy’ – but all vote tallies, including those that are not in the least suspicious. This will allow us to build a holistic database and rigorously test different hypotheses. We would also like tallies from candidate selections in seats that weren’t Labour targets and didn’t result in any MP. Ideally, it would be great if we could be provided with contemporaneous evidence of these vote tallies – such as a screenshot of a message or email relaying the result. We would also be interested in narrowing down which CLPs used Anonyvoter for MP selection, even if the vote tallies are not available. Please send any information you think is relevant to the selection of the current PLP toresearch@shadowworldinvestigations.org. And please share this call for evidence widely!

Fully agree with the call that defecting RSF commanders should be held accountable for their crimes, though I suspect they only defected because of the promise of immunity. This feels like an issue that will get punted until after the war ends. hrw.org/news/2026/06/1…

This is possibly the saddest thing I've seen in a long time..an immigrant nurse talking about fleeing her home..she saved her UNIFORM. So she could still WORK for our communities. I'd fill this country with a thousand of this woman than one of those good for nothing thugs. God help this poor woman.

The message is actually: don't be violent yourself. Use your "justified anger" to vote us in. Then we'll turn the police and other instruments of violence against immigrants on your behalf. Then it'll be legit, moral and the perfection of the rule of law. The "I abhor violence but" schtick is Philps signalling to a radicalised base how to get what they want - retribution and violence against the other - through the system rather than outside of it. The long-con is that Philps and Farage can then pretend they are actually protecting us by holding the leash on a far-right street movement that they are supporting and enabling by legitimising their diagnosis of society's ills (immigration) and the "medicine" needed to fix it (cruelty and exclusion).
Owen Jones@owenjonesjourno

"Violence is never justified. But..." This is in response to a pogrom in which families with little kids were burned out of their homes. His party demonises peaceful protests against genocide as "hate marches". There's no "but people are understandably angry" there.

Four years ago I was reading Amnesty International's reports to figure out whether there is apartheid in Israel. Now Amnesty International is citing my videos in their report on the West Bank... crazy. Go read the report, this is the most comprehensive overview of what's happening in the West Bank in the past years:

Palantir's co-founder claimed "the NHS makes people sick". Yet this US tech giant now runs the NHS data platform. There are serious concerns about its access to patient data and human rights record. The Government should use the break clause to kick Palantir out of our NHS.
