@KayaOnAir @PhemeloMotene fully appreciating the radical feminist approach to the conversation about maintenance and damages right now. Why do men constantly need to be educated regarding the simplest & most-straightforward way of being decent humans and respecting women?

I agree Angelina was fantastic on this 👌🏼

I recently finished watching this biopic about the famous Maria Callas portrayed by Angelina Jolie. She was exceptional, I just found the movie a little psychological. Therefore, if one doesn’t know the Maria story one might feel slightly lost.

I spent some time this morning teaching a grade 12 class at one of Johannesburg’s girls' high schools. The textbooks, particularly on geography, agriculture, and land matters, need some updating with new and refreshing case studies. We need to ensure that the kids are studying the right material and are seeing the positive reality of our country.

"Tell Cersei. I want her to know it was me." 🗿
In the 1960s, Diana Rigg found out she was paid less than the cameraman on ‘The Avengers’ and leaked it herself. She was earning roughly £90 per week, while the cameraman earned approximately £120. Some reports suggest her male co-star, Patrick Macnee, was earning as much as £1,000 per week during the show's peak.
When she went public with the disparity, the press and industry insiders labeled her "ungrateful," "a diva," and "mercenary". Rigg noted that she received almost no support from other women in the industry at the time.
It is a stinging irony that while Patrick Macnee (John Steed) was famously a "gentleman" on screen, he remained silent during Rigg’s public battle for fair pay. Despite their legendary chemistry, Rigg stood entirely alone against the studio
Embracing the labels used to silence her, she famously stated: “If fighting for justice makes me difficult, then difficult I shall be”.
As Emma Peel, she refused to be just eye candy. She trained in judo, did her own fight choreography, and delivered every line like she owned the room. “I am not a toy. I am an actress.”
Rigg successfully negotiated a pay raise, doubling her salary to £180 per week. However, she ultimately left the show in 1968, refusing to remain in a system she viewed as exploitative.
Decades later, she walked into Game of Thrones and stole scenes with a single look. Elegant. Ruthless. Unforgettable. Diana Rigg didn’t just play powerful women. She was one.

Sweden is committing more than €100 million to a sweeping classroom overhaul: replacing tablets and screens with traditional printed textbooks to help reverse falling student performance and sharpen focus.
After more than a decade of embracing digital-first education, Swedish authorities are now pivoting back to paper-based learning. Official data and recent studies cited by the Ministry of Education show that prolonged screen use in class has been linked to shorter attention spans, weaker reading comprehension, and reduced critical-thinking abilities.
Research consistently finds that reading on illuminated screens requires greater mental effort and invites more distractions compared to the calm, linear experience of physical books—factors believed to have contributed to declining academic outcomes in recent years.
Under the new plan, every student will receive printed textbooks for all core subjects, restoring books as the central learning tool. Digital devices and online resources will remain available as supportive tools, but they will no longer dominate daily instruction.
This bold €100+ million investment signals Sweden’s leadership in rethinking the role of technology in education. It underscores a broader, growing recognition worldwide: while screens provide speed and access, the hands-on, distraction-free engagement of physical books supports deeper concentration, stronger memory retention, and more effective long-term learning.
By choosing paper over pixels, Sweden is charting a path toward a more balanced, evidence-informed classroom future—one that puts proven pedagogical principles ahead of unchecked digital trends.
