Benjamin Stripe, Jeffrey Southard and Garrett Wong at UC Davis and the entire #TAVR team on their first two ShortCut™ leaflet modification procedures. Both cases entailed dual leaflet splits in previous SAVR patients who were in need of a #VIV procedure and at high risk of coronary obstruction. The first patient had a Magna valve which was failing due to aortic stenosis; she was able to receive a 23mm Edwards SAPIEN 3 Ultra Resilia #THV after the ShortCut procedure. The 23mm Edwards Inspiris valve of the second patient was failing due to aortic regurgitation and had severe commissure misalignment which posed a unique challenge. The precise rotational and flex features of the ShortCut in the skilled hands of the UC Davis #TAVR team enabled an optimal #VIV implant of a 26 mm Evolut FX+ valve.
