Nintendo has confirmed that there is a limit of 70 Miis on an FAQ page just published in Japan (via dootskyre).
"Q: How many MIis can I add?
A: You can add up to 70 Miis."

@OatmealDome This what happens when a game is built with the weaker system in mind.
Still believe this game Would have been grander if it had been a switch 2 title, but I'm happy it's back,
just hope next Animal crossing is switch 2 exclusive taking advantage of a next gen system.

@Popcor90 nay fam, I recommend just messing around with the settings, turning eyborws around, moving them up and down, mouth tilts, looking at expressions in a show and copying it etc etc

When I was younger i was absolutely terrified of this scene so i refused to feed my miis new food and I would let them starve for weeks like an abusive parent. I felt so bad but my fear was greater. I was a coward
