OK, hear me out: Next season NBC hires Marcus Freeman as its color analyst for Notre Dame home games and he coaches them too.

@Jason_Campbell8 @BudElliott3 Some of the throws, specifically Caleb’s 4th down pass, were butt clenching to watch but when they’re completed you’re just left in awe

The throws being made in this game are bonkers The TV angle kind of robs some of just how impressive this is

@BudElliott3 It’s primes version of Skycast. Point of view is Sky Cam. They draw the receiver trees and label players names every play. Also has the standard commentary as audio if you’re into that.

@BudElliott3 This is such a reach. They scheduled this in a year when Clemson started the season as a perennial CFP favorite. You can’t blame ND for scheduling opponents and they crap the bed when that schedule finally comes to fruition.

Exactly. They see Clemson is going into the gutter but get great name recognition out of it.
Joshua Borkosky@JoshBorkoskyEMS

@BudElliott3 Kind of like how they signed on to play Clemson every year starting next season. A program whose national title years are still fresh in the minds of the public but is collapsing into mediocrity.

@timomalleyND When is the current contract with the ACC set to end? What penalties would ND face if they were to terminate the contract early? Is there a football only clause that could be ended that wouldn’t affect the rest of NDs Olympic sports?

@BudElliott3 It always looks different when you schedule. Right now 2029 ND has Bama, Texas, Clemson, and FSU. If any of those programs tank you can’t blame ND.

But they cherry pick the worst P5 teams Wisconsin, Michigan State, Purdue, UNC, BC, Cuse, Stanford That’s lie six name brands who kinda look good but aren’t trying to compete to win their leagues
Dump On The Ump@UmpDump2005

@BudElliott3 They play two G5 teams: Navy and Rice.

@AriWasserman The ACC and Miami (and frankly you) were cry babies for the last two months. Now ND can’t make a point when the CFP led them astray for months? Got it

1. I understand why Notre Dame doesn't want to play. Stick it to the man, don't use your brand to fill the networks' pockets, etc. 2. I don't understand why Notre Dame isn't playing. A few reasons for that: You look like crybabies to the entire college football world, you're giving up on practice and game reps for young players and you're sending the message to quit when things don't go your way.
Brett McMurphy@Brett_McMurphy

“What kind of message does Notre Dame send?" bowl official told @on3. "We didn’t make the playoffs, so let’s just pack it up & go home. You think BYU’s not upset. Hell ya they are. So are other teams, but they sucked it up. That’s poor leadership.”

@BudElliott3 @MRIRISH1287 Miami having their starters in blowouts throwing fades to the end zone as time expires shouldn’t mean a thing. If it does, that’s just another reason the system broken.

They aren’t going to penalize you for losing the SEC Championship when the team you’d be up against doesn’t play a championship game. Also, Aggies losing to Texas by 10 makes one of ND losses look worse.
Nick Bucholtz@nrbucholtz

@BudElliott3 Why wouldn’t Bama be on the chopping block? If they lose, don’t penalize them. Leave them at 10. If BYU wins then bama would be first one out, no?

@dannykanell So in your video this morning talking about using all 12 data points for Texas, you’re going to ignore Miami’s losses to lesser opponents? Only when it fits your narrative I guess.

Okay so now we have one quality common opponent between ND and Miami in Pitt. Miami was better in worse conditions vs Pitt actually trying to win the game. But this is stupid. Because instead of that we could just use the actual game when they played each other Miami > ND

@AriWasserman The committee obviously values close losses. They have Tenneesse and previously Missouri ranked who haven’t beat a P4 team with a winning record.

I want to have a good faith discussion about this. I really do. I legit don't know what Notre Dame did this season other than beat USC and roll over truly awful teams to be in the conversation. Eye test/metrics, a schedule filled with awful teams > results of games. Will talk more about it on the show tomorrow.
J Suave@JSuave333

@EdwardsOhio @AriWasserman Actually the reward for beating ND is even being in the convo. The reason why they aren’t is because they lost to Louisville and Miami as double digit favorites

Is it that his left foot is so far back and the camera angle makes it look exaggerated? Or is Pitt’s left tackle literally in the backfield?
