Actually my elder brother and his wife dated for 13 years. The wedding ceremony was just formality cos in their minds, they got wedded a long time ago. Today, they are not just a couple but best friends, like TWINS. One knows the other inside out and the relationship is enviable. It is not the wedding ceremony and society’s standards that matter. It is the bond between the two individuals coming together. It is not how long a relationship goes on without a wedding ceremony. It is the quality of the relationship between the two people. So I had this friend who's very good at giving advice. Any situation you find yourself in, he advises you and they work most times. For some reason, he went mute when I chose a different career path. I went to visit PH and decided to pay him a visit, only to discover that he left PH a few years ago and didn't tell me. I wasn't angry, I just smiled and forgot about it. Last month, he texted me with a different Whatsapp number and was bringing up casual gist. It was annoying because there was no accountability, no explanation of any sort, just pure "looking-down". I played along and we kept gisting... We exchanged a total of 57 messages on that day. I saved his number and started seeing his Whatsapp status. He called me on Wednesday last week because he had a falling out with some policemen. When I decided to dig further, I found out that he was being rude to the policemen and had resisted opening his car trunk when asked to do so, because he has a "brother" in a position of power. Anyways no need to talk about what transpired. He tried to sell APC ideology to me on Monday, Tuesday he was begging for handouts. I told him to call Tinubu and blocked him. No matter who you are, if you are pro APC, I'll count you as an enemy.
