Absolutely hilarious the hypocrisy when it comes to review scores and metacritic when it's a game you're ready to shit on vs a game you've been anticipating. Right now the narrative surrounding Crimson Desert is "game journalists are bad" "metacritic doesn't matter"

PlayStation Stan's were right Starfield is trash, a complete and utter failure... So trash it is 2nd for pre-orders and 3rd for what's hot... How is Bethesda going to fix this? The fact they can't get 1st spot just proves it's absolute garbage like PS Stan's said.🙃

@WillJPowers Idon't want to join Wills block list because the way people are is awful. I think he and Pearl Abyss have been great at showing this game off BUT if base console isn't hitting that 1080 60fps in performance then I think it's fair to say it was hidden which isn't good.

@VodkaGreece @WillJPowers Agree with all that except there's definitely something fishy about console release. Why don't console players get a proper informed preview before buying. That's my only criticism.

I just want to say @WillJPowers and the team over at pearl abyss have done a fantastic job communicating with fans, journalists and YouTubers/streamers. Constant communication here on twitter and showing a crazy amount of gameplay before release. Been seeing some journalists on here saying the communication and constant feed of info from Studio to reviewer has been the best they have had in years which is something. Giving DF full access to review the tech was also great as most companies wouldn’t dream of it. More studios should take note of how Pearl Abyss have handled everything on the lead up to launch. Whatever the reviews scores are or if people love it or hate it you have to give them their flowers. The most open I’ve seen a studio in a long time.

@WillJPowers Where's the PS5 reviews why isn't anyone talking about how bad it looks and runs on PS5? low res textures low graphics preset pop ups...unstable 30 fps in Quality mode and Unstable 60fps in performance mode with constant dips to below 30fps in busy combat areas

I can’t believe it’s March 19th…. Crimson Desert day 🎉 Just pretty gutted it doesn’t drop until 10 pm for me in the UK. The day will practically be nearly over by the time I load it up. Going to be epic when the time comes though 💪

@MrHooboMaster I think my issue with game journalism is they appear to not want to he in the industry, any chance they get of a scandal or political point they write an essay, when it comes to playing the game they don't get it most of the time. Ratings are very inconsistent too.

So I gotta ask.. Why do youtubers that do the exact same thing as "game journalists" (but in video form) think they're somehow superior to game journalists? If anything youtubers in general has less education and a way more reasons to outright lie to get liked and easy views.

@danno_omen Barely any would have completed the game in full but this game was always going to be divisive. It's not Gta and universally loved. And that doesn't matter, if you're on the fence check out reviews from those you trust or usually align with.

Crimson Desert now has 94 scored reviews on Metacritic. I’d be very curious to know how many of those 94 actually completed the game which should be a bare minimum requirement for press to score a game. My guess is not 94.

@SpawnYaardReply In general I wait for for a sale but if it's something I know I'm going to love like baldersgate 3 or Gta 6 or cyberpunk I buy new at full price. Doesn't always work out like cyberpunk 🤣 although I still did a playthrough with the launch version and enjoyed it.
