After nearly 2 months reworking Laravel for proper horizontal auto-scaling on Render, I finally made it work and open-sourced the solution as a Laravel package. With one install, it: ✅ Dockerizes your Laravel app ✅ Makes it stateless & load-balancer ready ✅ Separates web + worker services ✅ Aligns with auto-scaling platforms ✅ no Kubernetes knowledge required Laravel powers a massive ecosystem of production applications globally, and I noticed there wasn’t a dedicated Laravel scaling reference for Render — so I built one. It can also help when deploying Laravel to other auto-scaling platforms like Laravel Cloud, Fly.io, Railway, AWS ECS, and Google's GKE. Repo: github.com/provydon/larav… Would love feedback from the @Render team and the broader Laravel community. @anuraggoel @michaelgreer @taylorotwell

Lol not everyone has done Over The Air updates or even knows the meaning of OTA…that’s specifically for Devs who build Native installed software (Mobile, Desktop and other platform devs)….not web devs…Web devs update apps in real time. Different people are smart in different parts of the jobs For you to judge someone by them Knowing an acronym shows more about your own lack of experience and incompetence than theirs. Judge people by work they have done and work they can do (give them a task)…not by them Knowing a silly acronym.

I asked a software developer if he has ever done an OTA update for fixing a bug, and this dude became blank. He asked me what an OTA update means. Broooooooooother Bernard whaaat

I love @Railway. Been a happy customer for 5 years. But today a caching misconfiguration let users see and act as other users. Names, personal data, medical info leaked between customers. This after weeks of almost daily incidents. It's time to switch. Alternatives?

Claude app – Claude Code tab (UX suggestion) - When I switch between coding sessions and open the chat/code view, it should always auto-scroll to the bottom. - Starting at the top and making me always scroll through long threads to the bottom each time is frustrating. @bcherny @lydiahallie

here's what worked for me - Build a product that someone or a business around u might pay for and use...Maybe a software for businesses to manage inventory, etc.... (If u can't find a job, find a way to create the job).. u might fail, but it's better than doin nothing. - be Ai pilled, utilize Laravel's Ai SDK and build cool apps that use AI, Ai enabled this, Ai enabled that... the current market loves devs who can incorporate Ai into Apps - Apply to every single Larajobs email/post of new job..plus Linkedin too - be strategic, find small and new startups that just raised money or a small team..these sets give you higher chances of getting work - be versatile, learn other tools and languages for backend so you widen your options (Typescript, Go, Python, etc.. which ever one u can) - Open Source, create new Laravel packages dat solves a problem.. a company may use ur package one day and wanna hire your. - Lastly, pray and don't give up... do all you can and the universe will eventually reward you.

I have to say this interview changed my life. Hearing how Boris thinks about software spurred me to work much harder on releasing my own way of doing things and on iterating fast on how I build. Hard to believe it has only been a month since this one.

We shipped a new @shadcncraft website today. Also the plugin now does 2 big things:
• Turns your Figma designs into shadcn/ui-compatible React code
• Lets you copy CLI commands for Pro blocks from selected Pro components Less rebuilding. Faster shipping.

My last day at Laravel is next week 🤯 Everything about software development is changing this year, and I'm going to build for it 🙌 More soon! ⛽ Had a fun time building Boost, being part of the Laracon US keynote, releasing the MCP package, and leading the AI team 🤩

@Akintola_steve we don't do it just to be 'an engineer' we write code to solve real life business problems if those protocols are not solving a problem we currently have in our business/app, or a problem the business we work for has. then we probably wont ever need them.

Omo, too many backend devs are just too chilled with REST APIs sha 😂 Never touched SOAP? Never touched gRPC? Or GraphQL? If all you do is CRUD apps daily… you’re not really an engineer. Learn how architectures scale, or stay stuck at the same level (and salary) forever.

Trying to find a path to make agents work on serverless (Vercel in this case)... not fun Timeouts are already brutal, but I have mostly resolved with a session log to make things mostly resumable. The new issue is: subagents. Much harder to make resumable. If you fire out to a child task, what happens if you have parallel subagents? You need a coordinator task - which you can totally do but the complexity gets high fast.

We’ve raised $100M at a $1.5B valuation. We built Render to give developers an intuitive path to reliable and scalable cloud infrastructure. Now, we are bringing that same philosophy to long-running, stateful infrastructure for AI apps & agents. 🧵

Glad you like it Peter, Please give it a star on Github and share the word i worked hard on it for like 2 to 3 months before it finally worked. i had to make it work bcus i was dealing with a Bank's Loan Application here in Nigeria that was having thousands of request per minute. Traditional deployments through Laravel forge on a Digital ocean droplet couldn't handle that anymore, Even when i scaled the server Vertically (increased RAM and CPU) i still had only one Laravel instance running and all those request got queued..100k request get queued to be served by one PHP artisan serve..users at end of queue get slow request or timeouts. so i had to force myself to Learn Docker, Stateles deployment and Horizontal Scaling to multiple instances to serve requests in paralel under a Load balancer. then i created the package so i could use it accross all my laravel apps, they all use it right now. Plus @render helps me deploy my dockerized laravel app with Autoscaling enabled by default (they can replicate the app to 100 instances automatically if the load needs it)
