Try to defend Eddie Howe but this is absolutely pathetic.
That's now 22 points dropped from winning positions.
“I absorb the blame" said right at the beginning but then goes onto say "Our technical delivery was off today." putting blame back onto players. Perfectly media trained BS, Ending with that is what will be stuck in fans minds.

What a load of nonsense:
1. Maybe it's unbalanced because you have a STRIKER in midfield.
2. You not think Sunderland had more players missing which further unbalances their Xl?

This is simply embarrassing. We spent nearly £250m last summer, a lot of that on what have turned out to be poor signings overall. Quotes like these - and the assistant coach’s daughter taking on the fans on Instagram - is undoubtedly the beginning of the end of this #NUFC era.

I’ve been an Eddie Howe fan boy. I’ve backed him to the hilt. I’ll always respect EH for the cup win.
But after today, I genuinely believe this could be it for him. Head is scrambled right now but anyone calling for him sacked, at this point, certainly aren’t foolish. #NUFC

If his platform didn’t have a big following he would speak how he feels. He knows if he says Howe Out he will get a lot of media flack and it has more of a chance to hit the mainstream #NUFC

Because I don’t think we are entitled to immediate success, and don’t judge him more harshly because he and the team overachieved in the past. Howe made plenty of mistakes this year, but there’s so many other factors that have led to it - sometimes you just need a reset and that’s what next season will be
